Economic opportunity should be accessible to everyone, not just those already connected to it. We will expand workforce pathways, apprenticeships, internships, and training programs that connect residents to real careers in healthcare, the skilled trades, construction, clean energy, maritime industries, advanced manufacturing, technology, transportation and logistics, and the public sector.

We will partner with labor unions, educational institutions, employers, and community organizations to expand apprenticeship programs, strengthen worker protections, and ensure more residents have access to stable, union-supported careers with clear pathways to advancement.

Small businesses and neighborhood-serving businesses are the backbone of our local economy. I’ll support our commercial corridors by reducing barriers to success, helping businesses grow, attracting investment, and creating vibrant neighborhood destinations that serve residents and create jobs.

Major development projects in District 10 must deliver real community benefits. We will require strong local hiring, workforce development, career ladders, and long-term pathways into family-sustaining careers. Economic growth must translate into economic mobility so the people who built District 10 can remain, succeed, and thrive.
