Keep People Housed

San Francisco’s affordability crisis is pushing families, workers, and young people out of the city. In District 10, where multigenerational households and working families remain the backbone of our community, the stakes are even higher.

We will strengthen and enforce tenant protections, preserve rent-controlled housing, prevent displacement, and hold negligent landlords accountable so families can stay rooted in the neighborhoods they helped build. We will also support existing homeowners by expanding access to financial tools, estate planning, legal assistance, and pathways to homeownership that help families build and preserve generational wealth.

At the same time, we will accelerate the production and preservation of permanently affordable and workforce housing that reflects the real incomes of the people who live and work here, including teachers, healthcare workers, public employees, construction workers, service workers, and first responders. We will support community ownership models, including mixed-income housing that the public builds, owns, and keeps permanently affordable.

We will protect industrial lands that create and sustain good-paying jobs while ensuring new development delivers meaningful community benefits, reflects neighborhood priorities, and helps longtime residents thrive.

Addressing homelessness requires compassion and coordination. We will support a citywide approach that equitably distributes comprehensive, low-barrier services, including care for seniors, people with disabilities, and those experiencing mental health or substance use challenges.
